High Value Biorenewables Network is a BBSRC NIBB who offers a range of funding and networking opportunities. HVB will fund three Enterprise Fellowships to provide support for an individual to enable progress of a concept towards commercialisation. Funding of up to £70,000 will be awarded per fellowship and duration will be up to one year. Enterprise Fellows will be supported by a mentor funded by HVB.

Scottish Enterprise (SE) offer a wide variety of business support, advice and funding to companies in Scotland. The SMART: SCOTLAND grant of up £100,000 is designed to help small to medium sized enterprises undertake technical feasibility studies and research and development (R&D) projects that have a commercial endpoint.

The Zero Waste Scotland Circular Economy Investment Fund provides grant funding opportunities to businesses and organisations in Scotland seeking to create a more circular economy (CE), by:

Exploring markets for new CE products

Development and adoption of innovative business models for new CE products and services

Development and uptake of innovative technologies, products and services to support a CE

BBSRC provide a wide range of funding opportunities for academics to pursue word-class research across bioscience. A variety of grants are available for individuals and collaborative groups. Funding targeted at industrial partnerships includes the BBSRC Industrial Partnership Awards (grants of up to £500,000 towards total project costs, with at lease 10% cash contribution from the industrial partner), and the Stand-Alone LINK (50% grant funding of projects up to a value of £1M with 50% matched in-kind contribution from industry).

 

BBSRC, along with EPSRC, have committed £11 million to fund 6 unique collaborative Networks in Industrial Biotechnology and Bioenergy (NIBBS). Pump-prime funding to support academic and industry partnered projects is available through these.
